Fun Travels

Hey ladies!

So far the job search is about the same... nothing much. I'm looking for stuff, especially in Charlottesville, but haven't found anything too promising yet. There are also some people from church who have taken my resume and are trying to help me out. We'll see what happens.

But my exciting summer news is the trip I just got back from with my family. We went to California and spent 3ish days in Yosemite and 3ish days in San Francisco! It was a lot of fun! Yosemite is gorgeous!!!!!!! If you have never been... you need to go. We saw some beautiful waterfalls and mountains (of course), and hiked to the top of one of the waterfalls. It was the scariest hike ever because for the last part of it we went up steps that had been cut out of the rock and there was no railing, just the cliff to fall off if you slipped. Also, because it was near the waterfall parts of the stairs were very wet. Getting to the top and looking down the waterfall and the wonderful view was definitely worth the hike! Coming back down the stairs was the worst part, it was very steep and the stairs were not very wide. But, we made it! We also saw the fattest trees (seqoias) and the tallest trees (redwoods), along with lots of squirrels that were very friendly, and birds. Oh, also a mother otter with two babies swimming/playing up a stream! So cute. In SF we went to all the touristy sites: Alcatraz, Fisherman's Warf, Pier 39, Ghiradelli Square, Sausalito, ect. It was fun, but I learned I don't like crowded cities. Too crazy. It was a great trip, and I had a lot of fun with my parents.

We got back this past Wednesday, and then Friday I went down to Hburg. A few of my housemates are still there, along with some other people. We watched the fireworks downtown (oh hburg... they were kinda pitiful), went to Klines, hung out at a park in Bridgewater, watched movies, and went out for some fun meals with friends :) It was a great weekend! Weird to be there without all of Dfunk and without everyone that should be there. The worst thing was leaving on Monday and packing up almost all of my room. The only things left are my bed and desk chair. yikes. And this coming weekend I'm going down with my parents to get those last things. I'll be officially out of hburg/jmu :( I'm not ok with that at all. But no worries to those of you who will still be there for a while, I'll be down to visit!!!!

Alrighty, that was long, but that's my life so far.
